LUCY LAWLESS (Betty Rizzo). New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless has captivated audiences around the world as the fierce and fearless "Xena: Warrior Princess" on the popular television series. Her engagement in Grease! marks her Broadway debut and coincides with her hiatus from "Xena". During this time she will also be featured as the voice of her character in Universal Home Video's animated feature "Hercules and Xena - the Animated Movie: The Battle for Mount Olympus" as well as starring in Universal Studios' Florida multi-million dollar interactive attraction "Hercules and Xena: Wizards of the Screen." Prior to "Xena," Lucy did many television commercials and appeared with a TV comedy troupe "Funny Business" in Auckland. Additionally, she guest starred on many TV programs. She then went to Vancouver to attend the William Davis Center for Actors' Study and returned to Auckland to co-host "Air New Zealand Holiday" for two seasons before beginning "Xena". Lucy studied opera for several years, but her real passion is jazz. Now separated, she is the mother of a nine-year-old daughter, Daisy.
